What shaft did you get fit for for irons? Stiff or XStiff?? How far you GAMING 7i at

my irons are Titleist 716 AP2s. Got "fit" into those about five years ago by a shop pro. So they're just stock DGs in stiff.

I need to get iron fit.

My current 7i doesn't actually have that shaft in it - I got to test some neat shafts so one is in my 7i. Its a graphite stiff. But standard on that for me is about 170 - 175 mostly carry (I hit it HIGH and dont get much roll)

170? Wow. I'm at 155-160 with my 7.
But then again, I am not good at this game. Shot an 85 yesterday with 2 mulligans, so more like an 89...
yeah i hit it far

i dont hit it straight or play/practice enough to hit even a little consistently straighter. the game gets easy if im hitting it fairly straight (driver/wedge on a lot of holes)

Driver, wedge must get old/ sarcasm off
Play with a guy that has one badass wood/driver swing. 1 out of every 30 or so times, he bombs one 300+.
Consistently 20-30 yds further on drives
Did that to me three times yesterday. Driver wedge, etc. Meanwhile, I'm driver, 6i....
Funny thing is, is that our iron distances are pretty even. Go figure....

93 yesterday. so i mentioned the driver being out of my bag while i wait on replacement. my 3w is normally very steady for me. but the last few weeks I have not been able to find anything with it. yesterday was much of the same. putted reasonably well compared to previous weeks (33 putts). Now to get the tee game back on some kind of track. going back out tomorrow

@mitetak i went up to stiff flex shaft for driver this year on a new maverik. Ball flight is much more manageable. I expect youll see similar results. Also been playing Bridgestone Tour balls this year. Pretty happy off the tee right now.

Gorgeous day for golf yesterday.

Went out in 41 - wedge game was strong and the greens were the best we've played on this year so it was much easier to putt.

Then I made the turn .. came back in with a 47. I just lost the feel. Wedge game was fine .. just getting into wedge distance was the problem :D

It sucks when I shoot < 90 and it feels like i played like shit still. Oh well good times with good people and there's always next time :D

Played in a scramble tournament Saturday to benefit a local safe place for abused women and children. One of the bigger tournaments of the year here. We couldn't buy a putt that day, lipped out at least 5 (more) birdies. (They rolled the greens Friday evening) Ended up with a 67. Took 2nd place in the third flight for $450. Entry was $380/ team, so basically beer and golf was free that day.
Swing is coming around though. Hitting much more solid shots.
On vacation for three weeks, so will be playing every day this week until we fly out Saturday to Key West.

What is everyone's thoughts on this situation:
We have a new golf pro that is pretty damn good. He is 65, but still averages easily 260+ off the tee. Normally plays from the tips until tournament time, then plays from the golds. He has entered and made at least second place in every tournament he has put together this year, and there is a bunch of tournaments now. At least one every 10 days. Saturday, the long drive hole was on 15, a 525 yd par 5 from the tips. Gold tees are 80 yards closer to the pin. My group is usually hitting our 2nd between 200-250 out. His drive was marked at around 130 out.....
Am I the only one seeing a conflict of interest here? Hole 15 has by far the biggest advantage from the Golds...
His team shot a 57 Saturday.
They have pushed several women's tees up into the fairways, abandoning the elevated tee boxes built for them, which leads me into this situation:

His daughter is trying to turn pro. She plays from the tips when she is in town. She easily averages 260 as well. She is real good, with a beautiful swing. Had a big Calcutta tournament last month. She played with him in that, playing from the women's tees, Basically driving EVERY par 4. They took second for God knows how much in that.....
And they wonder why I'm not more active in these events, nor am I playing in the Ryder cup.....

I have no problem with being a badass, and over 65 with a daughter that can beat 90% of most men. I do take issue with him being the one putting these tournaments together and then entering them.....

Why is your pro entering and playing in your tournaments ? They have tournaments for pro level - around here all the club pros get together and play once a month or so. Sometimes a Pro-Am but usually just a pro thing. His daughter you can't really do anything about until she turns pro but definitely a conflict with him playing in yours, especially if he's the one running the tournament. That's my take on it.

I'm on board with Tony - the pro should 100% NOT be playing these tourneys at all. And if he is (which is BS) he should absolutely not be playing from the forward tees at all.

I agree. The dude is making more on tournaments than with his salary. Fuck that. I'm not giving him any of my money.
Played 36 holes today. Shot a 78, 86.
No foot wedges, etc. I did play all the shots up though.
EDIT: My golfing buddies are already calling bullshit on the 78. Whatever. They're just working and jealous. It was an honest score, (minus the playing it up, which we always do)
Previous best was an 82.
On top of that, we have a local rule about playing up a grip length in the fairway...
