Shot an 83 today from the whites my first 18, and 43 on the 2nd first nine.
Sounds awesome, but not hitting them real consistently, just really good misses when I hit them fat. Pretty sure weight shift is the primary reason for this. Wedges were as good as I've ever hit them, and the reason my scores are as low as they are.
For comparison, my first 18 was 41, second, 43.....
My 3 week vacation is over as of today, and going back to work tomorrow morning. Sad day for me. Was an awesome 3 weeks off, minus the douchebag at the bar that night.......

So, I work a fucked up 12 hour swing shift called the Dupont schedule. Pretty common in the Oil industry. To make a long story short, I work 4 daylights, then get 7 off, then 4 midnights, then 3 off for part of my schedule. If I take my 4 daylights, and 4 midnights off, ( 48 hrs each, essentially 2 weeks vacation), I'm getting 3 weeks off.
Anyone interested in my schedule can check out this link, which describes it pretty well. Essentially, I only work 6 months out of the year, provided I get all my days off, and still average 184 hours/ month....

DuPont Schedule for 24/7 Shift Coverage

EDIT: This is how I average 100 rounds a year....
Pretty sure @Dran works the same fucked up shift.....
For those wishing to skip the link, I constantly switch from days to nights, working 12 hour shifts with a 7 day off period per month...

A week ago Thursday I played in a member/guest. Was four man - 2 best ball teams. We shot -14 under winner was -18. We could've done far better but lots of loose shots. I shot 90 on a course that played about four strokes harder than my handicap - I cannot complain at all. I also won a 300 dollar gift card to their pro shop as well in the post golf raffle so that was definitely nice.

Monday I played in a NYSGA tournament. Shot a 98 there. I could not get comfortable over the ball at all throughout the round for some reason. We also had a 90 minute rain/massive thunderstorm delay that did not help things either. Was just a weird day. This course normally plays harder than my handicap as well but the tees they put us on (< 6000 yards) actually made it officially play easier. Lots of short weird holes. Just an odd day.

I'll be out again sunday hopefully getting off the course around the time it hits 100.

Got some new irons coming. Went with Sub70 699 with graphite shafts. Been fighting tennis elbow all season. Hopefully graphite helps.
ive seen Sub70 around quite a bit recently and they're getting great reviews. I'm interested in your thoughts.

Took my six year old out on Saturday for 9. he hit a bunch of shots but mostly wanted to play in the bunkers and run around. Not sure how I played - wasn't real focused.

Played Sunday though through the 95+humid. Pace was good but it still felt like a bit of a slog just due to the heat. Played ok but just couldn't find a rhythm.

Yeah it was damn hot out there. Tournament scramble Sat and we were not in the money. I hit it decent and got a closest to the pin. Yesterday I sweated along to an 83 which I'll take in that heat

Customer service is phenomenal! Encouraged me to keep demos longer if i needed. Emailed my fitting specs to see what they thought, owner Jason called me to put in the order, then the next day Cody (i think) calls to get payment since i didnt order through web site. Both great guys. The grip i wanted isnt on their website, he said he had some. Called me back next day cause he was wrong. Ungraded grips at no charge. So far its been great. The demo clubs had a heavier shaft than i like and ive been fighting tennis elbow so ive been swinging a bit “soft” as im trying to avoid hitting the mat. I demod the pros and ended up getting the standards instead. Decided i want the forgiveness while i figure out this elbow bullshit. They felt like any other injected iron that ive hit. Figure worse case scenario, cost effective clubs to play till my elbow gets better. Super happy with the company thus far.

Still trying to decide what to do with my PXG. Don't love them, not very "In like" with them. (They look pretty sexy) Pretty finicky, and sting like hell on mis hits. My Ping G400's are WAY more forgiving, (in feel) and they both go the same distance. I'd bet they're close to the same clubs you picked up. I've been playing them every 6th round or so trying to find a reason to keep them, but haven't had much luck finding it....
Hope yours treat you better. My striking is rather poor though

Ive seen lots of good stuff from them and have been interested. This small conversation and your mention of demos made me go look closer and reach out to them about equivalent to my AP2 combo set. They suggested the 639s so I have a demo coming from them eventually!

Im typically a decent ball striker but i like forgiveness and need the distance help.
So im not a decent ball striker but I run Titleist AP2s which are just a bit beyond pure blades. figure I'll try the 639 CBs first (which should be fairly similar) and then move to the 699s if needed. The problem I have is looks. If I look down and its too thick or there's too much offset I'm not comfortable.

Yeah i dont have that issue. Offset or not or thick/thin top lines dont bother me as long as its not extreme. One of the guys i golf with plays AP2, another plays P790 or whatever their equivalent is. Ive hit them plenty and could play them ok. The occasional miss hits that dont hold the green cause they didnt launch/spin right pisses me off. Im also fighting this stupid elbow issue and i figure at that price, built to help my elbow, why not. Even if they become back up clubs later. I also need the distance help.

I suspect I'll probably love the 639 CBs but then I need to figure out which shafts to play

Maybe Ill road trip to Chicago!

Played a 9 hole, 2 man scramble night tournament Friday night. Balls were shit. These were the ones that light up when you hit them. Went through 7 balls between me and my partner, at $10 a piece..
Had three tee shots that went out as soon as I hit them. Found two of them close to the greens. (Both were par 3's)
Had to club up 2 clubs, due to the shitty balls. We had 3 teams per tee, and in our group alone, we dented 2 drivers and 1 3 wood. One driver was a 2 week old Sim 2. Luckily none of my clubs were damaged.
Great idea in theory, horrible in practice..
Turned in a 7 over 42. Won $180.
Half the teams didn't turn their cards in.
They're planning some more night tournaments this year, and I found some 90 compression, eurethane covered glow balls called a Glow-v1.
They need an IR light to charge them. Anyone have any experience with them?

Played twice in Kentucky 86 first day after a 41 on the front - just horrible back side. 81 second day, different course, with a double on 18 to keep me out of the 70's. It's f'in hot as balls down there.
