Last night me and the boy watched:

Spider%20man%20into%20the%20spider%20verse%20quad.jpg

It had some of the best animation i've seen yet, story wasn't bad either, kinda weird.

Then when he went to bed I watched:

Watched the Ballad of Buster Scruggs for the second time recently, quickly became a favorite. Netflix is putting out some solid movies and shows.

Also watched The Shape of Water, I put it off for a long time based on the fact I was told it was about a woman having sex with the creature from the black lagoon. While not being too far off from that statement, it was definitely worthy of the 8 Oscars and 4 Golden Globes it won.

I still need to see Buster.

Yeah SOW was a weird ass movie, when if came out I always said if it was for the sex and cursing it would've been a nice family film. Michael Shannon's wife was HAWT! I wished we knew more about the creature, where it came from, why exactly was it there? There was really no meaning other than the gov't testing/abusing it.

I 100% agree with you, it could have done without it and had a good message for all ages. But it also added a bit to the film too to give it that extra bit of realism.
The creature part easily could have been more explained, they had the opportunity to give up more details beyond the fact that it was from South America. Damn CIA and their secrets.

Also - is there a single film where Michael Shannon doesn't play an asshole? He's great at the role, but he could do more. The parts with his thumb were pretty damn gruesome.

Ballad of Buster Scruggs was not at all what I expected, it was hilarious and a lot of big names.

Watched Two movies last night, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and Aquaman. Spiderman was great, cool (yet maybe a little weird) story and a pretty relatable main character for high school aged kids. Aquaman was just OK, not as bad as most other recent DC movies though. I think the action was a forced to escalate too soon into the plot, otherwise Jason Momoa plays the part really well.
Also - Amber Heard

Friday the boy had his two cousins over to spend the night, so we watched:

I thought it was great! Very original imo

and then yesterday the wife and I went and seen the 80th anniversary edition of this on the big screen:

I had only seen this once, and it was in my early 20's, so I didn't remember a lot of. Glad I got to see it again....it was great, but 4 hours with an intermission.
