I’ve got one of each, either one will do the job. The PD probably gets used more, it’s safer, especially on smaller RG and yes I’ve poked myself with each one, they both hurt about the same.
The shape of the shank and the saddle bit would qualify for a Lovat, I’m just not sure the the shank is long enough for it to be in the Canadian family, I was under the impression that the length should be twice the height of the bowl.
