I’ll add more to this as I go along but this could be a helpful guide to anyone with suspect cigars. Feel free to add more info.

Let’s start with the mother of them all faked the Cohiba Behike.45DFEBAA-E417-4B9E-81E9-238D1E552A6B.jpeg8FCF33B3-9D62-4866-83D7-CB46716B6D94.jpeg

There is also an added security feature on the bands. Under a blacklight or UV light there are 2 squares that light up blue. The other side of the band has another blue square 48DDEE20-3378-4935-ADE8-6BC1C0EBD9D3.jpeg

Montecristos! I’m not sure of the exact year they started this but my 2016s have it. There are reports they started this in 2013 and reports they started in 2015. I can confirm this on Monte no. 2s, Linea 1835s and 80th aniversarios. 0EF0BEAD-C287-4F36-A657-F16167EE7035.jpeg

My grandmother had a friend pick up these "cubans" in mexico. It's the thought that counts, I dont have them from her yet, but I'm sure they havent been humidified, I'll put them on the wall or something. She also said she I going to have him look for "cohebas" when he is down next...like I said, it's the thought.

Now my UV light isn't just for inspecting hotel rooms . I hadn't really thought about the possibilities of fakes because I trust my local B&M. But I also don't necessarily buy ones that are worth the time to counterfeit I suppose. I'm definitely going over my humidor with a UV light tonight now just to see what glows.

She must know what te amo means or it was a message from the seller. At least she was thinking of you.

I'm 100% sure the te-amo was of no concern lol, the word Cuba was the only thing that was the selling point. But ya her doing that was way out of left field for her, and it was very cool of her for sure. I did finally pick them up, surprisingly dont seem to be too dry, going to let them rehab for a month or so and I might actually smoke one (I never intended to at first)
