Aladino Maduro Box Press
Probably my least favorite in the line. Not a bad cigar, I'm just not much of San Andres fan anymore. It has gotten a little too common and the the quality doesn't seem to be the same as a decade ago.
I've smoked a lot of $15 and $20 dollar sticks that really didn't feel like they were worth the price. Davidoff is a prime example. Fresh, six months, and even a year of age they all are underwhelming to me.
I'll take a $5.70 Aladino Vintage Selection over a lot of the expensive cigars people...
Diesel Corona
Oily leather, wood, spice, and coffee beans. Doesn't taste like a super premium smoke, but something about it has a special place in my heart.
I was interested in the CLE Signature but Neptune has them listed at about $18. I'm not that interested. Rarely does a cigar over $12 actually turn out to be worth the premium price.
Aladino Cameroon Lonsdale
Half Wheel said the cold draw had "something that reminds me of an empty tobacco barn." I didn't try a cold draw, but the first few puffs definitely reminded me of Old tobacco barns after the curing season was done. It is easy to see how this could be the best cigar...
Cedar, hay, leather, earth, creamy espresso, and a bit of peanuts are pretty consistent through the first third. Not quite the punch of strength I expected.
Aladino Maduro Box Pressed Corona
Looking for a good low cost box stuffer. Just bought the wife a new car. I'm happy for her, but the extra $170 a month will effect the cigar budget.
This has actually developed more pepper strength sitting in the Tupperware. The cream and marzipan are definitely stronger, but now the pepper is eye popping on the retrohale.
Monovarietal Dominican Corojo
The weather has been delayed until early evening. So, I'm just trying to get one more in. A week and a half at 65% has helped it quite a bit. The first inch is red earth, green bell peppers turning to grass, and spice with that certain Dominican twang.
